Information

I’m Amber. I live in the United States, but I have always entertained the thought of living elsewhere. Traveling around the world has been a part of my dreams for as long as I can remember, but unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to do much of it. Japan, Hawaii, Italy and Egypt are my top choices for traveling, although I’d like to be able to say I’ve visited every continent.

Speaking of dreams, that’s just what I am: a dreamer. I’m that annoying kid who constantly falls out of touch with reality, the one who asks Santa for world peace and ends up getting a pink sweater from granny instead. Rats, maybe next year. But anyway, there are a lot of things I wish I could do and can’t because I lack the necessary talent/items required, such as dancing, playing the violin (along with the drums, guitar and piano… heheh) and keeping a hula hoop around my waist for more than thirty seconds. I am also interested in marine biology, but the subject of biology and its several random Latin names bores me to tears, so that’s a no go.

Despite my obvious lack of coordination, I still manage to play video games quite well, but that might be because most of the ones I own are for my old, battered Sega system; I just can’t seem to play on anything else! I really love Pokémon and Sonic the Hedgehog in particular. Some of my other hobbies include web design, drawing, painting, reading manga, watching movies (my favorite genre is horror) and listening to music. Most of my music is in a foreign language, but I do listen to some English bands. I also have a nasty habit of growing addicted to one song at a time and playing it over and over again, increasing my ability to be annoying tenfold. My last.fm username is rain-dancer if you want to see how compatible your musical tastes are with mine or laugh at the song numbers as they stack up.

The Domain

A friend registered rain-dance.org for me on August 21st, 2007, and it is actually the second domain I have ever owned. Originally I had the site on Tehlove Hosting because I had won hosting there as the first place winner in a contest, but eventually the site closed down. I then moved over to Devyn’s reseller on WebHostingBuzz, but ultimately I left when I saw an opportunity to have my very own space. I am currently hosted on Surpass, where I have been since February 2008. I do recommend Surpass as a web host (WebHostingBuzz is amazing too), as I haven’t had any problems with them so far. Now I have 200GB disk space and 2000GB bandwidth for $60 a year - more than enough for my sites. :)

The website is called rain-dance.org of all things because it sounds really pretty and I love the rain. Not to mention that it’s a really cool move in Pokémon. :x
